“It is with great sadness that WCCA mourns the loss of our cherished friend and colleague, Cindy Elliott, who lost her courageous battle with cancer on November 25, 2020. Cindy was a shining example of the impact of WCCA programs as she began her career here as a Section 8 program participant. She was a valued member of the Housing Department for 26 years. During her career, she helped house over 3,000 households. In addition, she served as Membership Chairperson for the Southeast Regional Section 8 Housing Association (SERSHA) for many years and was awarded its prestigious President's Award. She was beloved by her clients (some of more than 20 years) and her coworkers and valued by professionals in the community with whom she interacted while serving mutual clients.
