Relief from HUD Requirements

ALL PHAs who were affected by Hurricane Florence please read this notice for important information from HUD pertaining to requests for waivers of requirements:

Please be advised that this notice advises the public that HUD is establishing an expedited process, for CY 2018, for the review of requests for relief from HUD regulatory and/or administrative HUD requirements for PHAs that are located in counties that are included in Major Disaster Declarations (MDD) areas.

Unless otherwise stated, requests for waivers must be made no later than four months after the initial Major Disaster Declaration. This notice became applicable on September 12, 2018.

Flexibilities that are available include extension of deadlines, Family Self-Sufficiency minimum program size, etc. and HUD Requirements that may be waived include, but are not limited to financial reporting standards and filing of financial reports, the announcement of opening and closing waiting lists, exception of payment standard amount, etc.
