Family Unification Program

On Wednesday November 21, 2018, HUD awarded $30 Million to help children in foster care. The funding is being offered through HUD's Family Unification Program (FUP), "which provides rental assistance to parents struggling to provide adequate housing for their children. Additionally, this funding can be used to help provide stable housing for young adults (ages 18-24) who have aged-out of the foster care system." (HUD Press Release No. 18-139). Of the nine states that our region covers, five were awarded additional funding through this program: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. Did your agency receive funding for a new or existing Family Unification Program?! If so, we would love to hear from you! Let us know by Joining the Conversation in the Special Programs Forum!
